Hello!

Hello, and welcome to my blog about Arthurian literature.  You’ll find information on Arthurian books, the cast of characters common in the literature, possible historical sources of the legend of King Arthur, and a little bit about life in Medieval times (it wasn’t fun, and it really helped to not be a peasant).

This painting is a depiction of game of jousting-gone-wrong.  Jousting was one of the hobbies of knights in the middle ages, and the sport features prominently in much of the Arthurian literature.

Medieval Painting of Arthur and Merlyn and the Knights of the Round Table

The Round Table is one of the most famous aspects of Arthurian lore.  However, it was not a part of the mythology until 1155, when it was introduced by the poet Wace (Taylor).
