Guinevere

Painting of Guinevere by John Collier, dated 1900.

Guinevere is the beautiful wife of King Arthur, Queen of Camelot.  In almost all versions of the story, she has an affair with Lancelot, and the turmoil that follows the discovery of the affair contributes to the fall of Camelot and the death of King Arthur.

The character has been played by many actresses including, Vanessa Redgrave (Camelot, 1967), Julia Ormond (First Knight, 1995), and Kiera Knightley (King Arthur, 2004).
