Activities: Jousting

Jousting was a sport engaged in by knights in the Middle Ages.  Two knights on horseback stood on opposite sides of a field.  They carried long lances.  Then they galloped at each other, each with the goal of unhorsing the other with his lance.

Jousting features prominently in much of the Arthurian literature.  The knights engaged in jousting tournaments to prove their skill and worthiness.
